Keep house reasonably clean, clean up any crumbs or food and make sure bins are emptied regularly. Under sinks or dishwashers tend to be a favourite place for cockroaches due to moisture so inspection for leaks should be carried out regularly. Warm areas such as under a refrigerator is another common place so regular cleans there are recommended also.
